Basic Navigation and Safety
 
Introduction to navigation and safety for anyone new to boating: sailors, power boaters, sea anglers, divers and boat masters. Also useful for experienced dinghy and keelboat sailors and inshore racers.
 
A new and very popular course run over 2 days or 16 hours, course packs include training almanac, charts, plotter and training electronic chart plotter CD.
RYA Day Skipper Theory
(duration 40 hours plus exam)
(5 days)
 
A comprehensive introduction to chartwork navigation meteorology and the basics of seamanship. Invaluable for learning how to start making decisions on board and if you are considering taking the day skippers practical course.
 
RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory
(duration 40 hours plus 3 exams)
 
Ideal for candidates for the Coastal Skipper practical course & Yachtmaster Offshore exam. Some revision of the Day Skipper shore based course plus more advanced skills in offshore & coastal navigation by day & night pilotage & meteorology.
 
RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) VHF/DSC (duration 1 day)
 
This radio operator qualification authorises the holder to operate a VHF radio fitted with Digital Selective Calling on board any British Vessel which is voluntarily fitted with radio equipment.
 
RYA First Aid (duration 1 day)
 
One day first aid course designed for small boat users.
 
RYA MCA/DTi Basic Sea Survival (duration 1 day)
 
This one day course prepares you to stay alive in an emergency. It will show you how to make the best use of a liferaft and you will learn some basic survival techniques.
